The number of people I know
Who believe the only way for the USA will continue to grow
Is to have a Convention of States
Which doesn’t exist – if you believe it does, you’ve taken the bait
You see, in the Constitution there is
Something called a Constitutional Convention. Yes, that’s what the COS truly is
An Article V Convention by another term
These advocates of such think this is the only way to create a berm
To reign in an over-reaching, tyrannical government – that seems to be a common goal on which we stand firm
Did you know when an Article V Convention is called
Congress determines the delegates. Just this should make you feel appalled
The wolves in sheep’s clothing on Capitol Hill
Get to choose who guards the sheep fold. Isn’t that a tough pill
to swallow
Americans in the know realize there is no need for Article V
‘Cause with an educated citizenry, we’d soon stop what those on the Hill connive
If those in office fail to abide by their Oath of Office and abide by the law of the land
Throw the buggers out! Recall them! Don’t let them continue in error! Strike Up the Band!!!
In short, hold our elected officials and the bureaucracy accountable or soon they will be canned
The Constitution gives us a second weapon that is Article VI
Known also as Nullification. Using this would be quite a fix.
Living in Cincinnati you should be aware
Lebanon, Ohio used Nullification prior to a 2022 SCOTUS ruling, throwing off the bear
Making the city a Sanctuary City for the Unborn. Amazin’ how few cities seem to care
for these little ones by doing the same thing.
Michigan recently voted to nullify all Federal regulations on firearms
No changes to the Constitution, no election held, simply people of the land protecting their farms
No need for alarm
Michigan was simply using Article VI. A brilliant idea within the Constitution. Isn’t that a charm?
In closing, my message is clear
Those wanting COS are either ignorant or they are stirring up fear
Having a no-holds barred Convention to amend
The Constitution which, should we abide by it, would be the only weapon needed to fend
Off a tyrannical, over-reaching government. Do this and the country will be on the mend.
